Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you are having a wonderful day filled with love and you’re surrounded by many loved ones today!
For the first time (for Valentine’s), I was a little crafty and created our own Valentine’s Card.
Here’s what I did:
- Last week I took a picture of my older one. I had him hold up his hand in a fist and point it towards me. Then I focused the camera on his eyes and “snap”… picture was done… unfortunately my younger one wasn’t into it (maybe next year).
- I added some text in Photoshop, if you’re not familiar with Photoshop, you could write on the final picture, add some stickers to it, or upload it to a site that allows you to add text before you print.
- I cut out little pieces where the hand is, so it looks like he is actually holding the lolipop.
- I added an organic pop… done!
I hope our family and friends will enjoy them!
Thanks, Design Mom, for the inspiration!
Again! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Recently, I have started looking into ideas and places for my kids birthday party (they are almost a year apart, both born in March)! We’ve been making lots of friends this past year and I don’t want to leave anyone out. But I don’t think I can host a party with 15 toddlers at my house… But holy molly, all these fun places for toddlers really do charge you an arm an a leg for a 2 hour birthday party. A lot of the places will charge you anywhere between $225 to $360 plus tax and gratuity. For some you will pay extra for food, cake, additional people… it can easily add up to over $300-400. That is definitely not in my budget for an almost 2 and 3 year old birthday party!
I looked into a lot of fun places that we have been to and my kids love (see list below) but a couple of days ago I came across this awesome Living Social Deal for the Smith House in Philadelphia. It’s $99 plus tax and gratuity for a 2 hour party for 15 kids. The birthday kid must be younger than 5. After April 1, you can use the house as well as outside playground (the playground is awesome!). The party room usually goes for $225. Click HERE to get the deal if you like it too (it’s good for a year!).
